Flappy Bird Creator Made $50,000 A Day From Game, Took It Down Because “It Ruined Simple Life”
Flappy Bird, the insanely popular game that is nearly impossible to play, is no longer with us. The game app creator, Dong Nyguen, warned the game would be taken down and much to the surprise of many, .
As of Sunday, February 9th, the game is removed from the Google Play and Apple App Store. The ominous warning that proceeded the game’s takedown: “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I still take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore.”
Nguyen expressed the game interfered with his simple life. The fact that he made over $50,000 a day from the game, revealed in an interview with The Verge, was not a deterrent. Nguyen followed through on his words and made it clear he would like some peace.
