In the ridiculous today, a woman in Arizona was allegedly punched for saying “Happy Holidays”. Someone wanted her to say “Merry Christmas!” instead.
According to the woman, a Salvartion Army volunteer, she was ringing her charity bell outside an area Wal-mart. The woman greeted customers with “Happy Holidays!” as they passed by. One woman was not going to stand for such antics, however, and did the unthinkable: she threw a punch.
[adsense]The victim, Kristina Vindiola, expressed shock as she interviewed with KNXV. Vindiola reported, “She came up to me and she said, ‘Do you believe in God?’ … She said, ‘You’re supposed to say Merry Christmas,’ and that’s when she hit me!”
In this incident of a ‘good’ Christian manning the front on the supposed Atheist’s War on Christmas, we see just another piece of the problem with religious thinking: if you don’t do as we do, we can punch you in the arm. Good grief! It’s granted that Jesus, the guy who preached to love your neighbor and to get along with each other, would surely condone such an act.
