A reader emailed me today to give a tip about a church shaped like a ‘twiddle rompus’. While that is the first time I’ve heard this term, I prefer to use ‘devil’s candy spot’ when referring to a man or woman’s secret parts in my sermons and teachings. At any rate, the backstory to this picture is quite rich.
The church pictured above is the Christian Science Church of Dixon, Illinois. The Google Earth image of the church, from above, shows a funny revelation in accidental design. The church was built to curve around an original pine oak tree, the arched roofing structure in the church’s main two end building give it a quite curious appearance. On its Facebook page, the church took everything in stride and promised, “a giant fig leaf is coming soon.”
