Some dastardly internet trolls started the rumor that Wayne Knight, known best for his role as Newman on Seinfeld, died in a car accident. According to a post on TMZ Today (not the real TMZ), Knight died after his car slammed into a tractor trailer parked on a highway.

The 58-year-old actor took to Twitter to defend his being alive. Most major networks picked up on the story, due to the fact that fake Tweets were issued and TMZ Today clones the look of the actual TMZ site.
